Laura is a Registered Nurse and Certified Case Manager with more than 25 years experience in nursing, mostly in geriatrics and hospice.
Witness to the most amazing patients, loved ones, caregivers and coworkers, Laura feels privileged and honored to be a part of so many end of life transitions. Each story is based on real-life experiences directly or indirectly, with the names, identities, and locations changed. In fact, many stories are blended from several encounters to protect the identity of those who have been in her care.
The hope and mission of this blog is to help others facing end of life situations at work, with friends, in families, and for themselves. If just one person can benefit from these stories, it’s all been worthwhile.
Laura lives in Louisville, Kentucky with her son, an OCD yellow lab, and skiddish cat. Besides being a nurse and writing, she enjoys hiking, gardening, cooking, and crafts.
Please enjoy the stories.
